It was a huge success the visit of the Italian Seigokan delegation to Portugal, composed by 25 members and headed by Francesco Cuzzocrea Shihan (6th Dan), Technical Head Director of Italy Seigokan.
The entourage arrived from Italy on the same day, April 25, about 13:00 at Portela Airport. Was waiting for a VIP reception by a delegation of AKSP Seigokan Portugal composed by 30 elements, among them the members of the Board. Transported to the Youth Hostel in Almada, on a bus from the Parish Council of Caparica, where there would be installed and where they had their first meal (lunch) in Portugal.
After a brief rest at the Inn, followed the International Seigokan Seminar in the Pavilion Hall of Sobreda Caparica, Almada, around 17:00, headed by Jose Santana Shihan (6th Dan), National Technical Head Director of Portugal and Europe Seigokan, assisted by Francesco Cuzzocrea Shihan and Altino Morais Sensei (4th Dan), President of AKSP Seigokan Portugal.
At the last minute, was communicated to us the impossibility of the presence of Carlos Eduardo Castro Sensei (2nd Dan), future Instructor of Seigokan in Spain.
To highlight the presence of 110 athletes at the Pavilion, which, due the day that the event took place (April 25, holliday in Portugal) and the splendid hot day vacationer (30 degrees), inviting a trip to the beach, we can consider a success.
After the Seminar, there was the Gala Dinner Reception in the Party Saloon "The Peacok - O Pavão" in Caparica, with exchanging gifts to each other.
On April 26, early in the morning, was carried out a tour to Sintra and then to Lisbon, as previously established in the Official Program. Special thanks to the kind of transfer of a car 16 posts bus from the Kindergarten "The Park of Storks" from Corroios and another 9 places bus from the Hall Lisbon Club, that we do not want to leave here to highlight. Due to the intense day, hot and tiring, cleared up the training provided to the Recreation Club Charnequense, by 21.00.
On April 27, was made early in the morning, a Welcome Reception to the Italian delegation in the offices of the parish of Caparica, by its President, Fernando Jorge Fernandes, with the delivery to all the italian members of a beautiful and valuable screenprinting of Nossa Senhora da Rosa, Patroness of Caparica, by the artist Louro Artur. A beautiful gift, no doubt, that we also did not want to stop highlighting. Was subsequently visited the area of Almada and the South Shore, with travel to the beaches of Costa de Caparica.
After a brief rest was held by the 19.00 parting train in the Municipal Pavilion of Caparica, again with the presence of Mr. President of the Parish of Caparica, where they exchanged the pennants of Seigokan Italy and the Parish Council. There were also handed over the diplomas of participation in the International Seminar and by way of farewell, memories offered by the Municipality of Almada.
This was followed by a farewell dinner with "a Portuguese Stew" dish of Portuguese cuisine, at the Restaurant "Janita" in Capuchos.
On April 28, the Italian delegation was transported in the morning to Portela Airport for the return trip to Italy.
A special mention to Seigokan Algarve of David Martins Sensei (2nd Dan), who participated in the Seminar with some of its members and helped to transport the Italian delegation in a courtesy car gently by one of its sponsors.
No doubt a repeat event and an unforgettable experience.
Not only the exchange of techniques, but an unforgettable human experience.
